Public policy, funding, and the economy play a big role in the performance and development of all types of transportation. Here are a few resources to help you learn more and stay up-to-date on current transportation policy and legislation.
Transportation System Development Report (pdf) - This report summarizes the evolution of transportation in the Baltimore region and Maryland.
Major Transportation Milestones in the Baltimore Region Since 1940 (pdf) – National transportation policy has been continually evolving. This report provides a concise timeline of major physical and service changes to the transportation systems in the Baltimore region since the end of World War II.
Legislative Weekly Report – Each year, the Maryland General Assembly meets for 90 days in Annapolis to act on more than 2,300 bills including the State's annual budget. During the session, BMC publishes a weekly report on the status of transportation, air quality and community development related legislation introduced in the general assembly.

2007 State of the Region Report (pdf: 1,209 kb) – The Baltimore region garnered top five rankings in 24 of 105 benchmark categories measuring business vitality, economic health, and quality of life among the 20 U.S. metropolitan areas studied.
