Annual Work Program and Budget - FY 2011 UPWP

FY 2011 UPWP (Adopted)

Every year, the BRTB develops a work program and operating budget for the coming fiscal year. This program, called the UPWP - Unified Planning Work Program for Transportation Planning, identifies activities to be completed by staff of the BMC on behalf of the BRTB and local and state agencies between July 1, 2010, and June 30, 2011. The FY2011 UPWP was approved by the BRTB on April 27, 2010 through Resolution #10-21 (pdf).

The UPWP activities focus on issues such as:

  • Development of a transportation vision and long-range transportation plan
  • Planning for air quality due to the region’s non-attainment status
  • Coordination of planning activities to support public transit
  • Systems to monitor and evaluate congestion, improve safety, and increase efficiency
  • Transportation needs of the elderly, individuals with disabilities and low-income residents
  • Bicycle and pedestrian access and safety
