Amendment Details

MTA has revised its program to optimize the use of federal funding and to spend down older grants. MTA has also improved the way project funding is displayed for many projects in the 2012 – 2015 TIP.  This new method makes the funding process more transparent. MTA projects listed in the TIP will now correspond more clearly to the Maryland Department of Transportation Consolidated Transportation Program (CTP). The CTP is Maryland’s six-year capital budget for transportation projects.

Projects currently in the 2012 – 2015 TIP with changes due to MTA’s new funding method include:

  • Bus & Rail System Preservation and Improvement
  • Light Rail Mid-Life Overhaul
  • Bus Replacement
  • Metro Railcar Overhaul

There are two project that have be included in a past TIP that have funding changes and need to added to the 2012 – 2015 TIP:

  • Howard Street Revitalization
  • PA/LED Sign Replacement for LRT and Metro

There are also two new projects being proposed for the 2012 – 2015 TIP:

  • Northern Police Facility Relocation
  • MARC Edgewood Station Improvements
