Wes Westerfeld, familiarly know to his friends and colleagues as "Mr. Map," retired from BMC on April 1. He was Technical Director of BMC’s MetroMapping unit, and was a pioneer in developing practical applications for GIS technology.  Wes made many significant contributions to local governments, utilities, law enforcement agencies and school systems.  He introduced crime-mapping technology to several local police departments, and was active in the creation of the Regional Crime Analysis System.
