Building Permit Data System Adds Info (Metropolitan Report, v4 #2)

July 2003

Building Permit Data System Online Adds Info

BMC's Building Permit Data System (BPDS) Online now includes contact information for the contractor and engineer for each project, in addition to the site address, description of the project and estimated dollar value. Subscribers can access the database 24 hours a day from a home or office computer.

BPDS Online can help identify new markets and track development trends. The database includes all building permits issued since January, 2002, and valued at more than $10,000 for new residential and non-residential construction and additions, alterations and repairs in Annapolis, Baltimore City, and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties.

Subscribers can search the database by type of building (such as single or multi-family dwelling, school, office building, industrial, commercial), date range, amount range and geographic area (jurisdiction, regional planning district, census tract, or zip code). Search results can be downloaded and opened as Excel spreadsheets.

A User's Guide in PDF format is available at: www.baltometro.org/pdfs/bponlineguide.pdf.

To subscribe to BPDS Online, contact the Regional Information Center at 410-732-9570.
