Once we’ve filled out our census forms and mailed them back, what can we expect? Get a preview of the 2000 census results for Baltimore and Maryland from the perspective of local experts. Learn about the American Community Survey, and how we will get neighborhood-level data on a continual basis, not just once every ten years. See how local businesses and non-profit organizations use census data in decision-making and strategic planning. Learn about the changing structure of our economy and why we are moving to new North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes.
Speakers will include Cynthia Tauber, University of Baltimore and US Bureau of the Census; Dunbar Brooks, Chief Demographer at BMC; M. Anirban Basu, RESI, Towson University; Amy Ritualo, KIDS Count Research Associate, Annie E. Casey Foundation; and the Honorable John T. Willis, Maryland Secretary of State.
