Interactive Mapping
The Baltimore Metropolitan Council Interactive Mapping web pages make available map-linked information (geographic information system, or GIS) on the Baltimore region. Interactive mapping allows the user to navigate, explore, manipulate and customize BMC spatial data. Whether you are interested in new development, traffic congestion or many other types of spatial information you can click on the links below to begin. BMC staff has compiled this information and has developed planning tools for use by municipal officials, planners, engineers, and other members of the public.
The maps are designed to provide information about a particular topic, such as projects in the Transportation Improvement Program, crashes, or traffic counts.

Plan It 2035 Public Comment Map
New interactive tool that allows members of the public to quickly brainstorm their ideas on a Google Map. Visitors to the map simply find the location they’d like to suggest a project – either by zooming in to a location or using the embedded search tool – and drop a “pin” on the map. This will open a box that allows the user to enter some brief information about their proposed project. Visitors will also be able to see what other people are proposing by clicking on the other pins.
2005 - 2009 ACS Quick Facts
The American Community Survey (ACS) is an ongoing survey that asks questions about demographic, social, economic, and housing characteristics of the population. This data is an estimate based on a small sample and can have a large margin of error. Please note that the margin of error is not shown on this map.
Park and Ride Locations
You can use the interactive application which utilizes the Google Map API technology to locate park and ride lots in your area of interest and then view and print the detailed data (i.e. driving directions).

BMC GIS Data on Google Earth™
You now have the ability to overlay BMC data onto Google Earth. Make use of the high resolution aerial photography, detailed basemap data and the ease of use of Google Earth to view many of BMC's datasets. Visit the data download center to start.

Traffic Count Database
Traffic counts – defined as the number of vehicles that pass a certain point on a roadway during a certain time period – can be used to make important traffic as well as business location decisions. You can search BMC’s online database for counts at many hundreds of locations in the region, each displayed with a map.
