Survey of Heavy Duty Diesel Truck Owners
In spring 2007, the American Transportation Research Institute, under contract with the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, conducted a survey of owners of truck fleets operating in the Baltimore region. The purpose of the survey was to determine the level of existing and planned use of emission control and fuel saving equipment on heavy duty diesel fleets.
Surveys were distributed by e-mail, fax, and mail, and notices of the survey were put in trade association newsletters. The results of the survey, along with some data analysis, showed that a number of factors influence the current and planned use of these technologies.
The final consultant report was presented to the BRTB at their July 24, 2007 meeting.
