The Freight Movement Task Force is an Advisory Group to the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board. Join us at our next FMTF meeting to learn more about freight movement in the Baltimore metropolitan region, future projections, and how this may impact future transportation planning.

Cambridge Systematics will present the results of our Baltimore Regional Freight Profile Draft Report.
The meeting will take place next Thursday, August 16, 2007, at an exciting freight location! Terminal Corporation is located at 1801 South Clinton Street, Suite 300.

Draft Plan: Transportation Outlook 2035 Public Meetings

Draft PlanThe BMC, as staff to the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board (BRTB), has released Transportation Outlook 2035: Creating a Blueprint for the Baltimore Region's Future. The Draft Plan provides an overview of financing transportation for the Baltimore metropolitan region and lists the anticipated highways, transit, bicycle and pedestrian, and management and operations projects for 2013-2035.

The Draft Plan is available for public comment now through August 29, 2007. The public is also welcome to attend any of several Public Meetings to learn more about the Draft Plan, ask questions, or provide comment. To access the Draft Plan click on the link below.

New CDL Program

PurpleTruckAnne Arundel Community College, in partnership with All-State Career, will host a Kickoff Breakfast for their new CDL program.

BWI Air Cargo Expo

FunkyAirOn Thursday, September 27, 2007, starting at 9 a.m., the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) in partnership with the Baltimore Washington International Airport Development Council (BWIDC) is co-hosting the 3rd Annual BWI Cargo Expo. This one-day event will be held at the BWI Midfield Cargo Building G until 3 p.m..

Approximately forty exhibitors will display their services and provide information. Exhibitors include airlines, freight forwarders, cargo-related service suppliers, as well as representatives in the commerce and business community.



Gas Prices

Gas 8-07BMC staff monitors gas price data obtained from the American Automobile Association. In Maryland gas prices dropped slightly in August compared to July 2007 with the average regular price falling seven cents and the average diesel price holding steady. This information will appear in subsequent Maryland Moves newsletters.
