SAFE BALTIMORE HOPES YOU HAVE A FAB HOLIDAY!
|
|
Focused. Always
Sober When Driving. Buckled Up. |
|
Drive Safe Baltimore and the Baltimore Metropolitan Council
wish you a safe, happy, and FAB holiday season.
Focused - Dazzled by holiday lights? Keep
your eyes - and attention -- on the road and your hands on the wheel.
Always sober when driving -
If drinking has turned your nose red please don't drive the sleigh. Plan ahead for a
designated driver. Take advantage of free ride home programs, or pack a bag and
stay overnight.
Buckled Up - You
wouldn't drive home without tying down the Christmas tree. Make sure everyone is
properly buckled up.
This is no time for Season's Grievings, so wherever you go this holiday
season, please remember to Drive Safe Baltimore!

Track
Santa's Trip on the NORAD web site, Twitter, or
Facebook! |
|
Each year for the last 50 years, NORAD, the North American
Aerospace Defense Command, has tracked Santa's progress throughout Christmas
eve.
This week, NORAD is gearing up to track Santa Claus using powerful
radar and satellites to find Rudolph's bright red nose; digital cameras to snap
pictures and videos of Santa; and last but not least the NORAD jet fighter to
check in on all of Santa's reindeer.
The real-time Santa info is
available in seven languages and includes games, videos, a countdown clock, and
of course the SantaCam and radar maps to track Santa's progress.
Visitors to the site can also track Santa using Google Earth or sign up
to get updates on your cell phone or through Facebook and Twitter fan pages.

Growing Smarter, Living Healthier: A Guide to Smart Growth and Active
Aging
This guidebook is intended for older adults who
are interested in how communities work and how to help them become more
'age-friendly.' The first chapter, Staying Active, Connected, and Engaged,
outlines why our choices of where and how to live can have an impact on our
health and wellbeing. The next three chapters - Development and Housing,
Transportation and Mobility, and Staying Healthy - outline strategies and

| LOOKING FOR A
BETTER WAY TO GET AROUND DOWNTOWN? |
| New
transportation system coming to downtown Baltimore City January
11th!
|
To better connect Baltimore residents, workers, businesses,
and visitors, twenty-one hybrid EcoSaver IV buses will circulate on three
downtown routes, seven days a week-with no fare or boarding fee.
The circulator routes will run south to north from

East to the B&O Railroad Museum.
With buses arriving approximately every ten
minutes, the circulator system is planned to connect with Amtrak, MARC, Light
