Public Participation Plan 2007: Letter
2007 Public Participation Plan for Transportation Planning in the Baltimore Region
As the Chair of the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board, I cannot stress how valuable the members of this board find public engagement in the transportation planning process. In carrying out our mission, we, the members, make transportation-related decisions affecting everything from the vitality of our regional economy to the daily lives of our citizens. For that reason, public guidance and advice are a central consideration in the allocation of millions of dollars to transportation projects here in the Baltimore region.
The purpose of the BRTB Public Participation Plan is to set forth the standard expectations and procedures for public involvement in this region’s transportation planning process. This document similarly presents opportunities for the BRTB to expand and enhance public engagement as needed to support our decision making processes.
Public involvement starts with you. I invite all our partners and stakeholders to become involved in transportation planning in the Baltimore region. It is only through your involvement that we can truly create a regional transportation agenda that is meaningful from Bel Air to Annapolis to Columbia, Westminster, Towson, Odenton, and Baltimore City.
Your comments, questions, and advice on how to improve this process are welcome! Send us a note at www.baltometro.org.
Sincerely,
Carl BalserBRTB Chair
