Maps and Data

Using the Traffic Count Database

The Baltimore Metropolitan Council’s interactive Traffic Count Database allows you to view and print detailed data, as well as a map of the location.

Using the drop-down menus choose a Jurisdiction (Baltimore City or one of the counties), then choose a Station Type. For the broadest search, choose <ALL> in both the Station Type and the Station boxes. The Search Phrase box is where you can enter a road name, route number or Station ID.

When the results are displayed, select whichever one(s) best meet your needs. A map of the station’s location and its traffic count data will display. You may need to scroll down to see everything.

Helpful Hints

  • What you enter is not case-sensitive; all lower-case letters are acceptable.
  • For most complete results, use just the street name, omitting abbreviations and words such as street, avenue, court or road.
  • For route numbers, either use just the number itself or precede it with IS for Interstate (e.g. IS695) or with MD for state routes (e.g. MD45). When searching by number, you may get results for what seems to be an irrelevant location, if the number you entered happens to be part of the Station ID.
  • Some stations do not show any results, but new counts are regularly added to the database, so stations currently without counts may have data in the future.
  • Click on a column heading to sort the data by that column.
  • For best results, use Internet Explorer, Safari or Opera as your browser. The database does not currently work with Firefox.
