Travel Model Integrated with ArcGIS
The Baltimore Metropolitan Council's technical staff have developed a computer program that utilizes the power of Geographic Information Systems to improve the editing and analysis capabilities of the Baltimore Region Travel Demand Forecasting Model.
The new ArcGIS based system is a group of applications that provides technical staff with a more powerful and user-friendly set of network editing, analysis, and display tools.
The new system includes customized programs such as the Scenario Manager, the Editor Extension, and the Household Density Calculator. These programs provide users with the ability to generate network scenarios, easily edit the network while automatically maintaining database reliability, and calculate household density lists, respectively.
