Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Chair
Baltimore City Mayor
Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was sworn in as Baltimore’s 49th mayor on February 4, 2010. She had served as City Council President since November 2007. Rawlings-Blake was first elected to the Baltimore City Council in 1995 at age 25, the youngest person ever elected to the City Council. She represented the Council’s 5th District from 1995 to 2004 and the 6th District from 2004 to 2007, serving communities throughout West and Northwest Baltimore. More on Baltimore City web site>>>
John R. Leopold
Anne Arundel County Executive
John Robinson Leopold became the seventh Anne Arundel County Executive on December 4, 2006, after representing District 31 in the Maryland House of Delegates for 20 years. A native of Philadelphia, Executive Leopold lived for many years in Hawaii, where he served in the Hawaii State House of Representatives and Hawaii State Senate. In 2000, the National Republican Legislators Association named Mr. Leopold Legislator of the Year. Before graduating from Hamilton College in 1964, Mr. Leopold played baseball and soccer at the college. He later taught English and coached soccer at a private school in Honolulu, HI. Mr. Leopold is also an accomplished artist. His paintings have appeared in art shows in Philadelphia and New York City. More on Anne Arundel County web site>>>
Kevin Kamenetz, Vice-Chair
Baltimore County Executive
A lifelong resident of Baltimore County, Kevin Kamenetz began his career in public service as a prosecutor in the Baltimore City States Attorney’s Office. In 1994, he was elected to the Baltimore County Council where he served for 16 years including 4 terms as Council Chairman. In 2010 he was elected County Executive. Born in Lochearn where he attended Campfield Elementary School, County Executive Kamenetz graduated from the Gilman School, and received degrees from Johns Hopkins University and the University of Baltimore School of Law. Throughout his school years, he worked in his father’s drug store in Overlea. As Baltimore County's twelfth County Executive, Kevin resides in Owings Mills with his wife Jill and sons Karson and Dylan. More on Baltimore County web site>>>
Haven Shoemaker
Carroll County Board of Commissioners
Haven Shoemaker was elected to two terms as mayor of Hampstead before being elected County Commissioner. He operates a law practice in Hampstead. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a law degree from the Widener University School of Law. He served as an infantryman in the Army National Guard. A member of the Westminster Baptist Church, Mr. Shoemaker previously presided over the Carroll County Chapter of the Maryland Municipal League and has been a member of the Carroll County Economic Development Commission and a board member of the Marriage Resource Center and Carroll County Habitat for Humanity. David R. Craig
Harford County Executive
David R. Craig became Harford County Executive in July, 2005, when he was chosen by the Harford County Council to succeed James M. Harkins who had resigned to take a position with state government. Mr. Craig served the city of Havre de Grace as both a City Council member and as Mayor. He also represented the County's 34th District in the Maryland House of Delegates and later the Maryland Senate. He serves on the Advisory Committee on Transportation Goals, Benchmarks and Indicators, and has served on numerous other state boards and commissions. More on Harford County web site>>>
Ken Ulman
Howard County Executive
The Honorable Ken Ulman was elected Howard County Executive on November 7, 2006. He previously served on the County Council representing District Four. In 2005, Ken received the Omega Psi Phi Public Service Award in recognition of his leadership and his work to improve Howard County. Ken is also an attorney who managed his own law firm in Columbia and focused his practice in the areas of estate planning and elder law. A graduate of Centennial High School. Ken received a B.A. in government and politics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Ken lives in Columbia with his wife, Jacqueline, and their young daughters, Madeline and Lily. More on Howard County web site>>>
