6. APPROVAL OF AMENDMENTS TO OUTLOOK 2035 AND THE 2010-2013 BALTIMORE REGION TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

The BRTB will be asked to approve Resolution #10-15 in support of two new capacity projects. (5 minutes)

7.  APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT TO THE 2010-2013 BALTIMORE REGION TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM TO INCLUDE FUNDING FROM THE JOBS BILL OF 2010 – STIMULUS II

The BRTB will be asked to approve Resolution #10-17 in support of projects meeting the intent of the Jobs Bill of 2010. (5 minutes)

8. APPROVAL OF THE PREFERRED ALTERNATIVE AND CONCEPTUAL MITIGATION FOR MD 175 FROM MD 295 TO MD 170

The BRTB will be asked to approve Resolution #10-18 in support of the preferred alternative for MD 175. BRTB approval follows the adopted steps in the regional Congestion Management Process. (5 minutes)

INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
9. PRESENTATION ON URBAN HEAT ISLAND EFFECTS

Dr. Russell Dickerson of the University of Maryland will present a study on the impact of upstream urbanization on urban heat island effects, the local climate, and atmospheric pollution levels. (15 minutes)

10. REPORT ON CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION EFFORTS

A representative from SHA will share experiences on the Eastern Shore regarding project development and sea-level mitigation strategies. (10 minutes)

11. UPDATE ON THE PARTNERSHIP FOR SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES

The BRTB will discuss the Notice of Funding Availability from HUD that outlines a federal approach for multi-jurisdictional planning efforts. (15 minutes)

12. UPDATE ON REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION VISION PLAN

The BRTB will be briefed on the development of this work activity. (10 minutes)

13. A GUEST SPEAKER WILL GIVE THEIR PERSPECTIVE FOR THE REGION’S VISION

As part of an ongoing series of speakers, Ms. Mary Leary, Director of Transportation Projects for Easter Seals Project ACTION, will relate her organization’s objectives in relation to the 50-year Vision planning of the BRTB. >> View presentation (20 minutes)

 Weather AlertIn the event that Baltimore County schools are closed system-wide, all meetings (AM and PM) of the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board and its subcommittees will be cancelled for that day. If the school system closes during the day, any meetings scheduled for the remainder of the day or evening are cancelled. Delays in the opening of the school system do not impact any committee or their scheduled time.
