1. WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS (5 Minutes)
2. STRATEGIC HIGHWAY SAFETY PLAN (SHSP) UPDATE (10 Minutes)
MHSO staff will provide an update on the SHSP and other statewide safety initiatives.
3. REGIONAL SAFETY CAMPAIGN (30 Minutes)
BMC consultant team will brief the Committee on the Regional Safety Campaign initiated in 2008 aimed at reducing distracted driving among young drivers.
4. MAARS DATA MINING AND VISUALIZATION TOOL (15 Minutes)
UMD staff will demonstrate a tool that will help local and state safety engineers to access and analyze crash data using a web-based analysis tool.
5. STREET SMART BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY CAMPAIGN (15 Minutes)
BMC staff will brief the Committee on the upcoming kickoff of the Street Smart campaign in the Baltimore region.
6. BALTIMORE COUNTY CRASH-CRIME CORRIDOR STUDY (20 Minutes)
Captain Howard Hall from the Baltimore County Police Department will brief the Committee on an aggressive driver campaign along six corridors in Baltimore County. This is currently a NHTSA pilot project called Data Driven Approaches to Crime and Traffic Safety (DDACTS).
7. MEMBER REPORTS (15 Minutes)
Updates from safety stakeholders on regional activities.
8. FY 2010 REGIONAL SAFETY CAMPAIGN (15 Minutes)
The Committee will discuss priorities and focus areas for the next fiscal year.
