6. APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT TO THE 2008-2012 BALTIMORE REGION TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (5 Minutes)

The BRTB will be asked to approve Resolution #09-26 in support of an amendment to the 2008-2012 TIP. The amendment will allow the Maryland State Highway Administration to design and construct intersection improvements at key locations along access routes to both Aberdeen Proving Ground and Fort Meade.
 
7. ELECTION OF BALTIMORE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION BOARD OFFICERS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2010 (5 Minutes)

At the May BRTB meeting, the BRTB Nominating Committee recommended Carroll County as BRTB Chair and Harford County as Vice-Chair for FY 2010. The BRTB will also entertain nominations from the floor prior to a formal vote for new officers that will assume BRTB leadership in July.

8. REPORT FROM FREIGHT MOVEMENT TASK FORCE (10 Minutes)

Mr. Rick Crawford, Special Assistant Corporate Affairs, Norfolk Southern Corporation, Chair, Freight Movement Task Force, will brief the Board on the group’s work activities.

9. BRIEFING ON THE HIGHLANDTOWN/GREEKTOWN RED LINE TRANSIT- ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT CHARRETTE (15 Minutes)

The FY 2009 Unified Planning Work Program provided funds to Baltimore City in support of a community-based planning process to identify TOD and revitalization opportunities for the Red Line in the section between Canton and Bayview. A weeklong planning charrette was convened to solicit input from community, business and political stakeholders on transit-oriented development opportunities. A representative from the South East Community Organization will brief the Board on the outcomes of the charrette process.

10. BRIEFING ON THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE REGARDING THE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PLAN FOR TRANSPORTATION PLANNING IN THE BALTIMORE REGION (10 Minutes)

Staff of the Baltimore Metropolitan Council will brief the Board on the recommendations of the BRTB Citizens Advisory Committee regarding the Public Participation Plan. The Plan outlines the procedures set forth by the BRTB for public involvement in this region’s transportation planning process.

11. STATUS REPORT ON REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION VISION PLAN (5 Minutes)

The BRTB will be briefed on the development of this work activity.
