Transportation Work Program and Budget - Public Comment
Open for Public Review: Annual Work Program and Budget for Transportation Planning
BALTIMORE (April 3, 2009) – Each year the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board (BRTB) develops a work program for the coming fiscal year. This program, known as the UPWP or Unified Planning Work Program, identifies activities to be completed by BMC staff on behalf of the BRTB and local and state agencies. The public is invited to review and comment on the draft of the UPWP for Fiscal Year 2010 (July 1, 2009 – June 30, 2010) from now through Friday, April 24, 2009.

- Planning for air quality due to the region’s non-attainment status
- Coordination of planning activities to support public transit
- Systems to monitor and evaluate congestion, improve safety, and increase efficiency
- Transportation needs of the elderly, individuals with disabilities and low-income residents
- Bicycle and pedestrian access and safety
