ACTION ITEMS

6. APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2009 UNIFIED PLANNING WORK PROGRAM (5 Minutes)

The BRTB will be asked to approve Resolution #09-11 in support of an amendment to the FY 2009 UPWP. The amendment is requested by the Baltimore Metropolitan Council (BMC) to complete various transportation-related activities.
 
7. APPROVAL OF ALTERNATIVES RETAINED FOR DETAILED STUDY FOR MD 198 FROM WEST OF MD 295 TO MD 32 (5 Minutes)

The BRTB will be asked to approve Resolution #09-12 in support of the alternatives retained for detailed study for MD 198. BRTB approval follows the adopted steps of the regional Congestion Management Process.
 
INFORMATIONAL ITEMS

8. PRESENTATION ON U.S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY PROPOSAL TO INCLUDE MONTGOMERY COUNTY AND PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY IN THE BALTIMORE NONATTAINMENT AREA FOR PARTICULATE MATTER 2.5 (15 Minutes)

A representative from the EPA will brief the BRTB on the implications of including Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in the Baltimore nonattainment area for 24-hour PM 2.5. The presentation will explain EPA’s basis for this modification and outline the timeline for EPA’s final nonattainment designation.

9. PRESENTATION ON MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION’S FEDERAL ECONOMIC STIMULUS PROPOSAL (10 Minutes)

A representative from the Maryland Department of Transportation will brief the BRTB on the focus and impact of the transportation investments to be included in the State’s federal economic recovery package.

10. DISCUSSION OF BALTIMORE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION BOARD RETREAT (10 Minutes)

BMC staff will present the major discussion points of the January 14th BRTB Retreat.
 
11. BRIEFING ON AMERICA’S MARINE HIGHWAY PROGRAM (5 Minutes)

The BRTB will be briefed on the federal solicitation for short sea transportation routes to be designated as Marine Highway Corridors.

Weather Alert
In the event that Baltimore County schools are closed systemwide, all meetings (AM and PM) of the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board and its subcommittees will be cancelled for that day.  If the school system closes during the day, any meetings scheduled for the remainder of the day or evening are cancelled.  Delays in the opening of the school system do not impact any committee or their scheduled time.
