6. ELECTION OF BALTIMORE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION BOARD OFFICERS (5 Minutes)
At the May 2008 BRTB meeting, the BRTB Nominating Committee recommended the current slate of officers remain for FY 2009. The Board will take formal action on this recommendation.
INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
7. PRESENTATION ON FEDERAL CERTIFICATION REVIEW OF THE BALTIMORE REGION METROPOLITAN PLANNING PROCESS (5 Minutes)
A joint federal (Federal Highway and Federal Transit Administrations) certification review of the transportation planning process in the Baltimore metropolitan area will be held between June 23-25. Members of the federal team, as well as BMC staff, will brief the Board on the topics planned for discussion and summarize the highlights of day 1 of this 3-day event. An opportunity for public input is scheduled for Tuesday, June 24, from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the offices of the Baltimore Metropolitan Council.
8. PRESENTATION ON REGIONAL HOUSING SALES AND AFFORDABILITY (10 Minutes)
BMC staff will present a snapshot of single-family home sales in the Baltimore metropolitan area between 2006-2008. Although sales have slowed, housing costs still present a challenge for many buyers.
9. DISCUSSION OF RESOLUTIONS FROM THE CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF THE BALTIMORE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION BOARD (10 Minutes)
A representative of the CAC will present a set of resolutions endorsed by the CAC that request various actions be undertaken by the BRTB. These resolutions focus on such topics as amending the regional long-range plan, initiating a planning process for a new regional transportation plan, public participation and the 2009-2012 TIP. 10. STATUS REPORT ON THE RED LINE TRANSIT PROJECT (10 Minutes)
A representative of the Maryland Transit Administration will brief the Board on the status and activities of the Red Line. MTA is planning to submit a Draft Environmental Impact Statement to the Federal Transit Administration in the coming months.
11. STATUS REPORT ON PROJECTS RECOMMENDED FOR CONGESTION MITIGATION AIR QUALITY FUNDS (5 Minutes)
BMC staff will provide a status report on the projects recommended for FY 2008 CMAQ funding. (5 Minutes)
12. PRESENTATION ON TOWSON WALKABILITY PLAN (10 Minutes)
Baltimore County will present the focus of a multi-modal plan that seeks to enhance the walkability and pedestrian environment of the Towson Business District.
