2008 Federal Certification Review of the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board As part of a federal certification process, conducted every four years, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Baltimore Region - the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board (BRTB) held a joint meeting on June 24, 2008 with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to enable the public to comment on work done by the MPO.
The review process also included a site visit conducted by representatives from the FHWA and FTA on June 23-25, 2008 to discuss the current status of the MPO's "3-C" planning process.
The BRTB completed a successful federal Certification review in 2008 that determined that the regional process meets federal requirements. This certification is in effect/ until September 3, 2012.

About the BRTBThe BRTB is a 10 member board representing the cities of Annapolis and Baltimore, the counties of Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard and the Maryland Department of Transportation, the Maryland Department of the Environment and the Maryland Department of Planning.
The MPO for the Baltimore region is responsible for the 20-Year Long Range Transportation Plan for the Baltimore region, for implementing that plan with a 4-year list of projects, and for coordinating with state and local partners. >> More information
