Bike to Work Day Waiver

I, the undersigned, freely acknowledge and realize the dangers of participating in BIKE TO WORK DAY - 2018 and fully assume all risks including but not limited to collision with pedestrians, vehicles, other riders, and/or fixed or moving objects, the negligence of other riders, sponsors, promoters or drivers, and dangers arising from falls, road surface, equipment failure, inadequate safety equipment, weather conditions, as well as the possibility of physical and/or mental trauma (or injury). I understand that the route requires bicycling on public roadways, and bicycling in bad weather and that cyclists have been hospitalized and/or killed because of traffic mishaps that are either their responsibility or others' responsibility and I further agree that I will bear all expenses incurred in any such accidents.

I realize that the BIKE TO WORK DAY - 2018 requires physical conditioning and I represent that I am in sound medical condition capable of participating in the ride without risk to myself or others, I have no physical or medical impediment which would endanger myself or others, I understand and agree that a situation may arise during the BIKE TO WORK DAY - 2018 which may be beyond the control of the sponsors, promoters or organizers.

I waive, release, and discharge for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives (including successors), any and all rights and/or claims which I have, may have or may hereafter accrue to me against the sponsors and promoters of the BIKE TO WORK DAY - 2018, the owner or lessee of any site where I will rest during the trip, or other sponsors or affiliated organizations and their respective agents, support personnel, volunteers and their representatives, officers and employees for any and all damages, injuries or claims which may be sustained by me directly or indirectly arising out of my participation in the BIKE TO WORK DAY - 2018 whether caused by the negligence of those released above or otherwise. My waiver and release of all claims, demands, actions and liability shall include without limitation, any injury, damage or loss to my person or property which may be (a) caused by any act, or failure to act, by the above-identified persons and entities or (b) sustained by me before, during or after the BIKE TO WORK DAY - 2018 and its related events.

The above agreements and representations are my express understandings of the risks and I assume these voluntarily and freely without coercion or duress. This agreement may not be modified orally and may not be waived in any respect. I accept responsibility for the condition and adequacy of my bicycle, safety gear and riding equipment, and agree to abide by the rules of the BIKE TO WORK DAY - 2018 relating to the wearing of a helmet, identification tag, as well as other organization requirements. I understand that the law defines a bicycle as a vehicle and I agree to follow all traffic laws, signs, rules and regulations. I consent to the use of my likeness in photographs or slides by BALTIMORE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL, CLEAN AIR PARTNERS, AND OTHER PARTNERS for brochures and /or other promotional materials. I also consent to and permit emergency medical treatment in the event of injury or illness. I consent to receive electronic updates regarding Bike to Work Day. I have read this agreement, waiver and release.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR REGIONAL MTA/LOTS TRANSFER POINTS STUDY

The Baltimore Metropolitan Council (BMC) seeks the services of a qualified consultant or consultant team to study transfer points and potential transfer points between the transit systems in the Baltimore region. The consultant or consultant team shall work with the BMC staff, the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA), and the staff of the Baltimore region’s local jurisdictions and Locally Operated Transit systems (LOTs) to review and propose improvements to common stop locations and schedules to better facilitate transit transfers.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF LONG-RANGE TRANSPORTATION PLAN AND COMMITTEE MATERIALS

The Baltimore Metropolitan Council (BMC) seeks the services of a qualified consultant or consultant team to prepare templates for use in developing a long-range transportation plan, as well as brochures for transportation planning work in the Baltimore region. The consultant or consultant team shall work with the BMC staff to prepare templates for the plan process, provide original photographs for the plan document and also design and print 6 brochures for transportation planning functions.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR REGIONAL PROJECT BASED VOUCHER PROGRAM

The Baltimore Metropolitan Council (BMC) seeks qualified and experienced developers to apply for affordable housing subsidies for new construction, substantial rehabilitation, or existing housing through the Baltimore Regional Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Program.

Proposals must be received by BMC no later than 3:30 pm on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Successful applicants may be eligible for scoring incentives in the upcoming 2018 competitive round of Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) awards conducted by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).

BMC hosted a pre-proposal conference for interested developers on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 9:30 am. Links to the sign-in sheet and Q&A are at right.
